Do's and Dont's
Of the many do's and don'ts, there's one don't that definitely takes the cake: taking pictures with an iPad. DON'T DO IT. Its a trap. Whoever told you it was a good idea to hold an electric brick in front of your face to snap a shot is obviously so 2005 (or maybe they're just not too familiar with technology). The first iPad was released in 2010 with the intention of advancing technology and making it easy to do things; which in turn, generally makes you look like a smart person. That backfires when you attempt to take pictures with an iPad. So next time you think about posing for a 'selfie' and showing everyone on Facebook how ugly the outdated shower curtains are in your bathroom, think about the fact that you look like your holding a giant cookie sheet next to your head, and pull out a smart phone.

Student arrested for making "weapon of mass destruction"
We all know the safety and precautions the U.S. takes in everything have dramatically increased after September 11th 2001, but are they taking some of them too far? Last week in Altoona, Pa., the roomate of a Penn State student from Russia charged with building a suspected bomb in his bedroom says the 18-year-old recently set off three "mini-bombs" outside of their apartment. Andrew Leff tells the Altoona newspapaer that he warned Vladislav Miftakhov to get rid of the bomb-making materials. Miftakhov was in jail Sunday in Altoona after being arrested Friday and charged with possessing a "weapon of mass destruction" and risking catastrophe, but is this all really necessary? After all, every July Americans light off thousands of fireworks, and are these exploding projectiles much safer than a mini-bomb a kid lights off for the thrill of hearing a loud bang?

Carmelo's Big Game
Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks) went off Friday night in a game versus the Charlotte Bobcats at Madison Square Garden in New York. Anthony scored 62 points against Charlotte's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, finishing 23 of 35, significantly helping his team pull past the Bobcats 125-96. Anthony also set many records with his tremendous performance, including scoring a record high in Madison Square Garden, passing Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Bernard King. His biggest achievement, however, was undoubtedly bringing smiles to all the fans of New York, which was desperately needed during a miserable season. "Just to see everybody smiling once again, that's what I was more excited to see," Anthony said. "Guys on the bench smiling, high-fiving, having fun once again, that's the only thing I care about." The amazing part about Melo's performance was that he came out of the game with nearly 7 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter to take in all the cheers and love from the crowd and his teammates. If Melo would have remained in the game, he would have been on pace to score a staggering 73 points, setting him behind the 3 highest scorers of all time in a single game, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, and David Thompson.
